God has designed the family with roles that reflect His kingdom in Heaven. God’s intent is for the parents to teach the children about the love of God by their actions and their leadership. As the church is the family of God, we also strive to show the character of God in our actions and our leadership. We strive to be more like God every day, and seek to help others find Gods love and grace.

 

1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. 2 Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) 3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. 4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
